DANIEL PATTERSON, CMHC

Athletic Counselor

Daniel Patterson, CMHC is a licensed mental health counselor specializing in performance psychology and adolescent mental health. His work focuses on helping high school athletes and teens navigate the pressures of competition, identity, and emotional regulation. Daniel believes that mental health is the foundation of peak performance, and he is dedicated to helping individuals manage anxiety, depression, and high-pressure environments while developing resilience and self-awareness.

Daniel’s clinical approach centers on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a mindfulness-based model designed to build psychological flexibility. Rather than focusing on eliminating difficult emotions, he helps clients develop the skills to respond to them effectively. Through practices such as cognitive defusion and present-moment awareness, Daniel supports clients in moving away from reactive behaviors and toward values-driven choices that reflect the person they want to become.

His work is deeply informed by his background in combat sports, team athletics, and high school coaching. This firsthand experience gives him a unique perspective on the mental demands athletes face both on and off the field. By bridging clinical expertise with real-world athletic experience, Daniel helps athletes develop the mental tools needed to perform under pressure while maintaining balance and well-being.
